Hi Alexandra Thank you for very very much for the lovely tour with your 2 sons who are very friendly & helpful especially Alec who was Richard's personal assistant taking photos for him. Your older son was more quiet & did not talk much. All my friends enjoyed the tour tremendously especially my cousin Maureen as she studied history & still remembered the history of Macedonia & Bulgaria. The food was very good. The guides were excellent as everyone thought they were very very well versed in their knowledge of the history of the countries. Dear Alexandra, First of all I must apologise for the length of time it has taken me to contact you since our return from Bulgaria. This doesn't reflect in any way on the wonderful tour you arranged for but was rather a case of the amount of "stuff" we had to do when we got home. Thank you VERY UERY MUCH once again for the WONDERFUL tour you arranged for us. We really had little idea that there were so many interesting things in Bulgaria and loved the beautiful scenery and the delightful, welcoming people. Ilko and Ivan were so kind to us and so patient with us. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and all our questions were answered. We felt as if we were on a very special holiday with friends. Ilko even found some storks for us (photo attached.) I'ts difficult to think of any suggestions as to how the tour could be improved. Dear Alexandra, We had a most enjoyable time and are really pleased we visited Bulgaria not only for the wine and food but the cultural experience as well. I have now received the feedback from my fellow travellers. First of all, we want to thank you for arranging such a good tour. Your tour prospectus promised a very interesting tour and you certainly delivered it. We all enjoyed a most memorable week full of experiences we will never forget, which was due in part to our excellent guide, Giorgi, who was the proverbial font of all knowledge about Bulgaria. It also proved very interesting to be introduced to the wonderful culture and traditions of Bulgaria as well as the wine and food. It was almost like two tours rolled into one. The week was so full of highlights it is difficult to decide which were best. The ones that stand out most in our memory are our visits to the Starosel Winery (for the cellar and dancing experience), the Seven Generations Winery (for the meal overlooking the sun setting over the Danube), the Bachkovo monastery (for the impressive icons, murals and artistic facings), and the excellent selection of wine we were introduced to. It is a great pity they are not readily available in the UK. We fully expect you would be able to arrange another tour for us along similar lines but with a completely different itinerary. This is something we will certainly bear in mind.” We would be happy for you to publish this on your website.

Hi Alexandra, Thanks for arranging a most successful tour for us. We wish to repeat the tour with some minor changes. It’s most likely that we can't run it again until the same period in 2020 as our calendar is very full. Overall, it was an excellent tour with minimal things to change, very good guides and drivers. Hi Alexandra: Thank you for arranging such a good trip. Slovenia is a beautiful country and everyone was very pleased with the holiday. I have received a lot of thanks from people who very much enjoyed the wine tour. Everyone agreed that the tastings were excellent with different & very interesting wines. Also, the meals in the restaurants were very good, especially the one at the Gostilina restaurant that was Michelin * quality! The hotels were very comfortable and both the driver & Luka were very good too. Hello Alexandra, We are back from a very interesting tour of Romania and Moldavia: we really enjoyed both countries. First of all let me point out that we had a great guide and a superb driver. We could not ask for more. -Good choice of places to be visited. -Superb choice of restaurants, excellent food and great menus. -Hotels: all very good except the one in Brasov: a good hotel but the only one not central hotel. We were really pleased about all the arrangements the agency did for us. Every aspect of your service has been efficient. I cannot think of anything that you could improve. The choice of the hotels (right in center of the tourist sites) was fantastic. The flexibility that gave us to visit other places by paying the petrol was very wise.

I am busy today with my work & looking at my photos to edit them. All of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the beautiful picturesque sceneries of mountains & lakes with the beautiful Autumn colors & the last 3 days of snow which made us feel so child like playing in the snow.... George was an excellent tour guide and Kostas was an excellent driver. I think the next time we come to Bulgaria and have some free time I'd like to take the bus to Velingrad, spend a day or two in Velingrad to relax and then take the train the rest of the way Velingrad to Sofia. Just a note to say many thanks to Alexandra and her professional team. We were a little worried how a private tour in such exotic countries as Romania and Bulgaria would work out. We had never been to Eastern Europe and were a little concerned about being the only clients in a car with one or two strangers. Well... we needn't have worried. Our guides and driver were friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. This was a wonderful two weeks and we continue to sing the praises of Altours (and Alexandra) to anyone and everyone here in Australia. Dear Alexandra: First of all many thanks for an excellent tour which everyone enjoyed very much. All the arrangements went very smoothly and we all thought our guide and driver were excellent. For everyone it was their first visit and they were very impressed by the culture and buildings we saw as well as by the countryside, which was especially beautiful as the leaves were changing colour in the mountains. The coach was very comfortable as were all the hotels. All the breakfasts were excellent as were most of the dinners. I would definitely recommend your services. I have two degrees in history including a doctorate and the rest of the group included another retired lecturer, several retired teachers and the former owners and founders of a travel guide company.

I was completely satisfied. I thought the Bulgarian people wonderful. I felt I was dealing with honest and graceous folk. I had an excellent tour of the Thracian Tombs. This tour greatly improved my knowledge of Bulgaria from Paleolythic gateway to Europe to the cultural give and take between Macedon Hellenism and the Thracian kingdoms.

Hi Alex, I had an absolutely grand time traveling Southern, Central and Eastern Bulgaria with our guide and driver. All the hotels were quite nice, except hotel Bulgaria in Plovdiv. The guide was superb in terms of knowledge and sense of caring. The driver was good, keeping watch over us. We were a family for the 8 days we were together. I think I was very lucky to have had the National Museum guide – Agnesa. She is very good both in Japanese and English. Highly recommended. The symphonic orchestra concert was also a highlight of the trip. I appreciate every bit you have tried to make my stay comfortable. Thank you. I will definitely come back. See you again, JS

Hi Alex, Thanks so much for such a warm welcome in Bulgaria. From our welcoming dinner to the final farewell dinner, (just ten days later) we had a wonderful, fun, educational and delicious week. The historical sites were amazing to see, considering that some dated back to the times of the Thracians (6000-2000 BC). We have nothing like that in the US except for some Native American sites, but I don’t believe that even those are that old. Ours is a young country, as you know, and my Bulgarian grandfather was one of the many immigrants who helped to make our country what it is today. 'Altours' was the perfect place to begin my education on the history, culture and sites to see in Bulgaria. Your web site is so easy to use and it allowed me to take a look at the Bulgarian Monasteries, the UNESCO sites, the Treasures – all with colored photos. My favorite was the one on “Why Bulgaria?” - which I left on my wall at work so my coworkers would understand why I wanted to travel to Bulgaria. We really appreciated the special help that you gave us so that we could meet the mother of my friend who lives in Troyan and visit the village of Stefan Stambolovo, where my grandfather was born. These special things are what really made our vacation memorable. Speaking of people, we enjoyed meeting and traveling with Dolly (who must be one of your best tour guides ) and Simeon (our driver) who was more than a driver because of the restaurants he recommended and for our special tour to the Golden Sands Beach (which wasn’t on our original itinerary). Both Dolly and Simeon became friends of ours in just one week. Most of all, thanks to you for making our 11-day tour so special. I know that you took great pains to find the best places to stay (the small boutique hotel in Veliko Turnovo was our favorite), the best sites to see and the best places where we could enjoy our meals (which is always very important to me as a food professional). You are the best! Thanks and Blagodarya!
